Unfortunately I can almost guarantee you won’t be able to ask for vaccination cards. Starbucks policy is assume the best in our customers so I’m assuming it will be the same for this. Also it would get pretty messy if they did allow us to ask for it.

No, baristas are still required to wear a mask and even if/when it gets to the point it becomes optional for us, I will continue for quite some time for my own comfort/peace of mind.

we should strike. we make terrible wages for the enormous profit we generate for this company. we all know damn well they wouldn’t be able to replace us quickly enough, they’d lose millions in revenue and they’re not willing to do that. we generate their profit, we have the power here. we should be striking for better wages (especially in drive thru stores) and better safety precautions.

I really really want to try to organize a strike but a lot of my coworkers are already struggling to pay rent (and so am I to be honest), I know it would be better for the greater good but I can’t ask my coworkers to make that choice especially when it’s just one store where they can fire us all.

By the way a lot of y’all are wrong about the HIPPA thing businesses are totally allowed to ask if you’re vaccinated.

No, it violates hippa unfortunately. But customers can show on their own volition. So if you aren't vaccinated and if you ask about a mask and they don't, I'd kindly ask them to step back from the bar

HIPAA is actually a very specific law that only applies to doctors, hospitals, other healthcare providers and health insurance companies in that in most, but not all situations they can’t disclose your health records without your permission. But there’s nothing in HIPAA that says a private business, employer, person etc can’t ask your vaccination status. You don’t have to disclose it but people can ask.

Haha I do to but I used to work in the medical field so I know HIPPA all too well. Regardless it’s above our pay grade to ask for vaccination status. I don’t want anyone to fight me I’ve already been spit on a few times for asking someone if they had a mask.

HIPAA actually only applies to healthcare providers and those who maintain health records. It is not a violation of HIPAA to ask somebody if they are vaccinated.
