hi a green bean here! i wanted to work on my recipe memorization outside of working hours and was looking for the recipe cards on partner hub but I cant seem to find it... does anyone know where I can find it/link it? Thank you!

Don’t work off the clock. Take it from a long time partner don’t get in the habit of thinking about starbucks when you aren’t there. With that being said.. if you need some more time to practice recipes, simply ask your manager or barista trainer for support or other partners for tips.

thank you! i don’t want to work after hours either but my store is really busy and i feel really bad for always asking questions because it disrupts the flow of the bar... was just hoping to drill those recipes in my mind :( i feel like i’m slowing the store down a lot

I think most partners understand that it takes 6-12 months to get the job down. Give yourself permission to be patient with it and know you’ll get there soon. They are probably putting you on bar to practice, that’s the best way to learn :)

Ask your SM if you can be scheduled for training after or at the end of one of your shifts so you can sit and study recipe cards

that’s a good idea! thank you :)

i agree with the other person about not working off the clock but personally i feel like while being a green bean you have an exception. i definitely worked a lot off the clock when i was training but it paid off. as for where you can get help, there a tons of quizlets that have everything you need and those would probably be your best resource. Also a tip i tell every new person is take pictures of the register screens if you dnt already know where things are. and while taking orders go over in your head how you would make the drink if you were on bar.

the amount of pumps is probably the most important to learn because there will be people who ask +2 or -3 pumps and you need to do the math

thank you! i’ve been using the pos as my help to remember things as well and i’ll definitely check out the quizlets :)

if you really wanna think about it, work on memorizing the shots and syrups for different cup sizes iced and hot! work on basic frap routine and cs routines :)
flipflopticktockhiss [OP] 2 points 2y ago
been working on that a lot! i get so confused with what syrup goes into what and the order of components 😭

On top of our frap fridge there is a cheat sheet. There’s probably one somewhere
flipflopticktockhiss [OP] 1 points 2y ago
we only have a sticker for the frap routine at our fridge and not much else :(

Ask if you can take a pic of it. I did that a lot early on but my store is fine with phones on the floor
