Calling Off (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by chipqueen2532
Hi guys, I’m trying to find coverage for a shift next week and I’ve never called off for non-health related reasons but it’s graduation week and I totally forgot to request a day off and I cannot work that day or I can’t graduate. Is calling off without health reasons a time and attendance write up?? I have been late twice in the last six months due to said health issues for one and an internet issue turning off my alarm device and just want to make sure I don’t get any other write ups before the others don’t count against me. thank you!

Your graduation is much more important than Starbucks. I would try to find coverage and if you can’t, let them know ASAP you can’t come in.

Don’t wait till the day of calling off. Always give them as much warning as possible. Say personal issues, that you can’t attend that day. I don’t know how your manager is, but they shouldn’t contest it. Giving them that much leeway and time allows them to find coverage from other stores etc. and or rewrite the schedule completely for that day. And don’t mention why you called off to your fellow partners, keep it to yourself.

Tell your SM NOW and start asking coworkers to cover your shift!

that’s an obvious, I’m already asking and may have gotten something worked out but im simply asking if it’s a write up

I think that’s really up to your SM’s discretion
