customers are upset because the new strawberry açaí taste watered down... well it is!
not only that, but the color of it changed because the new strawberry açaí is lighter then before; so don’t get mad that you’re pink drink isn’t “as pink”.
complain to corporate, not to me.
RDHjake48 points2y ago
Is this with the new 2x small boxes? We haven’t gotten them yet
OkAd3484 [OP]38 points2y ago
yes! we got them yesterday. it’s so much more work then reg strawberry açaí.
idkcassie11 points2y ago
oh no… i was reading this and being like “man i don’t want to change”… then realized we’ve always had the little 2x boxes, we’re soon set to get the 4x ones. they’re darker in color?
stqmine7 points2y ago
Agh ):
KelseyDove6 points2y ago
Mentally preparing for the complaints 😓
Betty0011245 points2y ago
New 2x? I believe our store is moving from the small boxes to 4x that were diluting into pitchers? Is 4x what you had before?
SnooDonuts339832 points2y ago
The same thing happened when we changed over lemonade. It’s more work and it doesn’t taste nearly as good.
SuperSmashMyButtHole7 points2y ago
..changed lemonade? How long ago? We still use the white 1l cartons at the franchise I work for in the UK, do you think ours will be replaced too? :(
eyveggg6 points2y ago
Like over a year ago. The lemonade base is the same size as the refreshers & it’s 2x concentrated.
jklmnopedy1 points2y ago
They might be talking only about North America, at least in the US. I'm not sure if Canada was part of that change, too.
iStealSharpies1 points2y ago
Our lemonade is gross. I gag Everytime someone orders a plain lemonade.
SnooDonuts33981 points2y ago
It is! But it used to be decent at least lol.

How is it more work? We were told we will have 2l pitchers of each now.
SnooDonuts339817 points2y ago
Well for one, you have to make the pitchers and clean them. And I don’t see what it accomplishes other than an inferior product?
heartcontainer16 points2y ago
I thought the new boxes were x4 strength? That way when you water them down in the 2L pitcher, then again when you make the drink, it's the same as before.
The boxes we were using prior to this new standard were already x2 strength.
OkAd3484 [OP]6 points2y ago
no it is, but the pink color is duller because of the water added. it’s more of a pale pink now. we had a lot of complaints because of the color of pink drinks and we had to explain the new change and how we were measuring correctly
OkAd3484 [OP]4 points2y ago

heartcontainer6 points2y ago
I guess the color is one thing, but the drink SHOULD still taste the same cuz the base is more concentrated 🤷♀️
OkAd3484 [OP]18 points2y ago
it’s a placebo effect, if it doesn’t look like it would then people automatically assume it taste different even though it’s the same
heartcontainer7 points2y ago
Ah okay, I was confused by your OG post because you seemed to be agreeing with customers that the drink tasted watered down. My mistake!
This same kinda thing happened to my store cuz we were out of mango dragon fruit inclusions for like, a week. Customers kept saying the drink tasted WAY different without the inclusions even tho it's literally the same lmao
damagazelle13 points2y ago
If something works and is popular, don't mess with it. Corporate always chasing expanded profit margins. You can't always make more and more money for ever. Run a successful company, stop looking for the genie in the lamp and DON'T MESS WITH THE HECKING STRAW ACAI!
El_Gabe69-4206 points2y ago
I agree with you but the choice of making the refreshers 4X concentrated is more geared towards lowering the companies carbon footprint, just like moving towards the strawless lids.
My store hasn't gotten these yet, but I'm interested to see how it goes.
damagazelle1 points2y ago
I see your point, I wish I believed it. Here in California, many jurisdictions have legally banned plastic straws. Workarounds/exceptions notwithstanding, most places have switched lids. Is it a huge coincidence that Starbucks switched lids shortly after a wave of such legislation? Not before?
I'm sure they saw the writing on the wall and were looking at new manufacturers. But they didn't release those lids until after the laws were passed.
El_Gabe69-4202 points2y ago
Regardless of the lid/straw thing with California, Starbucks specifically told us baristas the reason for the 4X refreshers is for reducing the carbon footprint. Verbatum from all my managers and even store manager.
Believe what you want, shit's changing 🤷
iwantyourpoison1 points2y ago
i don’t get how it reduces the footprint? we’re still getting the same amount of packages of the 4x concentrates right? just a bit smaller
OkAd3484 [OP]2 points2y ago
THIS IS THE ONE!!!
stqmine10 points2y ago
but don’t tell me it affects the mango dragonfruit tastes it my go-to 😭
289partnerofq16 points2y ago
Eventually they do plan on changing every refresher tho :( they only chose açaí as it’s the most popular
stqmine2 points2y ago
wdym? all the refreshers will be 2x
289partnerofq14 points2y ago
The refreshers are already 2x concentrated, which is why we had the water. Now they’re gonna be 4x. So we’re gonna put them in pitchers with extraaaa amounts of water. So far, they only started to do this with the açaí, but it’ll roll over into every other refresher. They’re doing this to save waste on the packaging. Which makes some sense I guess. But when you think about it, all those added dirty pitchers at the end of day requires cleaning which requires extra water. Not to mention the overall process of making the 4x is time consuming therefore eating away at our already small amounts of labor.
stqmine2 points2y ago
Yes I agree. But I thought they were getting all of them already? We haven’t received any of the 4x yet but I’m pretty sure we’ll be getting all of them soon?
audiob1ood1 points2y ago
It's not just to save on packaging, it's to reduce the carbon footprint of moving the product from warehouses to stores.
I agree though - so much more work, and the spout pitchers are already a pain to clean :(
AnxiousCoffeeHero4 points2y ago
I think they’re going from 2x to 4x, more concentrated and less amount for the base.
OkAd3484 [OP]10 points2y ago
LOL no! they only changed the açaí juice, so you’re all good 😌
stqmine5 points2y ago
thank you friend <3
KelseyDove2 points2y ago
All refreshers will be changed to 4x concentrate
dazedandconfusedhere1 points2y ago
But only SAR is right now, the others will change at a later date
bryceofswadia8 points2y ago
Wait y’all do realize we aren’t supposed to dilute them in the pitcher until they ship the 4x concentrate right? The double strength stuff is just what we already had.
OkAd3484 [OP]4 points2y ago
for some reason my shift yesterday put out our shipment of the 4x, hence the reason why it was diluted. we switched back to the regular 2x today though because we have a lot left!
bryceofswadia6 points2y ago
Yea we haven’t even got any 4x yet. We’ve just been filling pitchers undiluted cuz it’s easier than grabbing boxes from the fridge when we make drinks.
Boundtoloveyou3 points2y ago
It's really weird, I guess my store got an off batch, because ours is actually *more* pink.
thechamelioncircuit1 points2y ago
I think it’s prettier this way
yukhentai1 points2y ago
the 4x actually looks darker in the pitcher to me 👀
xXMarsLeauXx1 points2y ago
Same!! It's way more pink
OkAd3484 [OP]1 points2y ago
really? it looks lighter to me. when i saw it i was like... well then 😂
