submitted by whyamiherejesus
i’m a new barista and wasn’t taught how to use the starbucks dcr,, help? what does lost shift and gained shift mean when it’s requested by somebody else?

it says my lost shift is 5/29 from 5-9 and is coverage and the gained shift is 5/26 from 4-9 as coverage (when i’m not available)??

i have no clue what this means,, and what is coverage anyway? i was kind of just thrown into this and have no clue how any of this is meant to work- please help!!

I’m not sure what the lost shift stuff is. But coverage is basically just the person being their for a shift. Like. If you aren’t there you have to find coverage (someone to cover your shift)

oh,, so when it says i have coverage that’s just my regular shift??

Yes. In the dcr it’s a bit different because there’s coverage and non coverage. Basically it means your working on the floor. If you were doing truck or clean play. The time you are doing those things is considered non-coverage
