once you put that baby in the blender it’s onto the next drink. steaming the milk, syrup and shots for your next hot drink and then going back to pour the frappuccino. or, starting to build your tea/refresher in the shaker, and moving back to pour the frappuccino when it’s done blending.

Least favorite drink to make is any kind of “build” drink. Caramel ribbon crunch and mocha cookie crumble Frappuccino’s are annoying. Also the famous Tik Tok white mocha, extra caramel, vanilla foam. And please, stop blending teas and iced coffees withOUT BASE SYRUP.

Me: “Do you mean a Frappuccino?”
Customer: “No, a regular coffee blended”
Me: “I can do that for you, but I should let you know that will be disgusting and I will probably have to waste a bit of it.”
Customer: “Thats fine, I get it all the time. DARK ROAST BLENDED!”
Me: “To clarify, you want a HOT coffee blended with ICE?”
Customer: “Yes”

If they don’t pay for the base syrup then I’m not putting in the base syrup. We have one double blended mango dragonfruit lady who is just the rudest I’ve ever seen. She always puts up a fuss at the register about the price and if we don’t make it immediately she’s rude at hand off too.

Nope. Not gonna make it smooth for you. I blend it without the creme base and when it doesn’t pour out smoothly. That’s when I get the spoon.

We let them know we're going to enter it as a syrup creme frap and build it in the system from there so they get the frap base and dont get a shit drink

Yeah we’ve tried this but the customer refuses any kinda sweetness in the tea and says, his wife is very ill and that is all she will drink. My SM says we have to do it for him. One blender already broke.

I hate anything having to do with heavy cream. That shits nasty and I hate the way it sort of curdles when you pour it into hot coffee and doesn’t mix into anything iced.

If we could have a third planted barista making all the frappuccinos for both drive through and cafe/mobile during peak, I think it would help without having two baristas traveling from counter to counter, interrupting sequencing, and you wouldn't be elbow to elbow with your partner both trying to make frappuchinos, reach the ice bin, sink, etc. get at the two blenders right next to each other. Would that be better? I'm curious as a partner who gets stuck on DTO/DTR, front/warming all the time even thought I know the beverage builds cold, I get to observe but not participate

We usually have a dedicated third barista doing all cold drinks during peak. Fraps and also refreshers and teas.

same. sometimes, we split hot, Frappuccino, and shaken (when it’s majority cold in the summer). or, even when we have the people, drive thru hot, cafe/mobile hot, frappuccino and shaken.

it definitely does but it’s often too busy to put a green bean on any of these positions or else our wait times are too long. usually we get green beans to practice early in morning or at night, when we have the bar split hot/cold and they can work on drinks slowly.

If it was just a Frappuccino on its own, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. But everyone’s getting cold foam on EVERYTHING. And not even just standard CF or VSCCF. They gotta add purée and different juices and matcha and mocha and whatever the heck else. Refresher? COLD FOAM. Apple juice? COLD FOAM.

I use to hate Frappuccino’s but I kinda like them now, burned out on making them but I kinda like them now I really hate the damned strawberry açaí drinks (why mix lemonade with dairy )

Now I hate caramel drinks because I had a girl nearly in tears for not having any but we did have a customer buy some caramel drizzle for us 😅

Strawberry Acai Lemonade = SAR base + lemonade

Also helps to start with cold milk. So if you have to. Crack open a new milk that’s in the fridge!

Not saying your milk isn’t cold. Just that I know a lot of greenies get a little overwhelmed and leave milk on the counter

Hear me out. We still have the old mastrenas which means we can only do ristretto shots in pairs, which means you have to keep an eye on the cup to move it for the second run if you need 3 shots. Which means you have to be careful if you step away to start a cold bar drink, get cold brew, etc. Also, I work mornings which means I rarely have adequate time to properly groom the milk so they frequently turn out like shit with bubble wrap rather than micro foam.

My personal drinks I hate to make are the drinks that customers make up and expect you to figure out. Then proceed to say the other Starbucks does not make the caramel macchiato a certain way. Like there is one recipe. We ideally all follow it. How am I supposed to make a caramel macchiato with light milk no foam and stronger espresso flavor with out adding espresso. Like... what. Or a latte with no foam but light milk but still full cup?! Like do you want water ?!! What I just I’m done.
