It’s a running joke at my store that everything bad happens only on my shifts (things out of my control, that is). Which includes ridiculously nasty customers. So I definitely relate.

I don’t, but one of my partners does. Specifically older men whose coffee isn’t hotter than the pits of hell. They pick her because she’s small and soft-spoken and will just go off on her, even when she’s not the one who made their drinks. I go mama bear when that happens. I don’t tolerate that shit.

Your problem is you’re being too nice.. I have recently been figuring this out. Yesterday, I advised my fellow partners to slow down and just do what needs to be done. No more no less, no over the top greeting for customers, a bit of a dry tone actually, and can I tell you how quickly the customer attitude also changed! It’s amazing, they will modify their behavior to accommodate yours. So if you’re on cafe bar, don’t smeyes, if you’re on DTO don’t perk up your voice, if you are getting impatient at POS show it.

Literally relate to this. I had a SSV that told me one day, that they felt whenever they put me at solo drive, I would get the bad cases of customers. I believe it!
