Does anyone know when people will be able to bring in their cups again? I know they’ve announced that recycle cup program but I wanna bring in my own cups again. I hate using the throw away cups everyday, especially when I get multiple partner drinks on days I work. Like they’re apparently cool with people coming in without masks now so why not let people bring their cups in again

I can understand wanting to reduce waste, though I think there’s a higher risk when people bring in their own cups for us to handle right now, especially considering a lot of customers (at least in my store) don’t wash their cups or expect me to be comfortable handling said cup after I watched them lick the edge of it.
If you’re talking about just partners bringing in their own cups so use for themselves, I think that’d be a better way to ease into it again. But I’m not sure I’d be comfortable handling another persons cup right now.

If you're a partner, you should be able to use your own cup so long as you make your own drink.
At least that's what my SM has in place. We can't take customer personal cups but partner personal cups? Yeah, it's not like anyone else is handling your cup so long as you're the one making your drink. Not even sure if this is against policy, I would sincerely hope not.

At my store partners aren’t allowed to make their own drinks, another partner has to make it for them.
chowderchop5 points2y ago
That's incredibly disappointing :/
Is there a legit reasoning for it?

I think the manager thinks we will “steal” extra stuff if we make it ourselves, but like it’s a free drink anyways so it doesn’t really make sense. He’s super strict about it though so I never bothered to ask why
chowderchop6 points2y ago
Aw, that's a shame.
I find that so silly, we're entitled to a few drinks during our shift as it is, I don't see how making your own drink prevents any "extra" material from being used, seeing as how everyone on shift may possibly get a drink at least once per shift anyways.
I guess it makes sense from his perspective, but I still find that SO silly, what if you are sent to break, like you have to wait for someone to make your drink if you want one for your break? haha :( what a waste of time, honestly.

Partners have been able to bring in their own personal cups for a few months now! Still a no for customers at the moment.

I see no partners at my store bring personal cups so I just assumed we couldn’t. We have a couple people who bring hydros but thats different. I guess I’ll talk to my manager and see whats the dealio at our store cause i truly hate using the single use cups. Especially cause i tend to use all my partner beverages
buubuubitch3 points2y ago
Hm I suppose your manager may have a say, but I’ve seen my partners (including myself) bring in all sorts of cups- Starbucks brand or not. This has been going on for a few months with no issues, so I hope you’re able to as well!

I understand respectfully checking in with SM & going with what your team is comfortable with but as above person said, partners have been able to for some time. I believe it was a weekly update thing that explained that partners may have a personal cup on days that they are working.

I’m just about to start again, can we bring in reusable water bottles? Or do we need to get a new water cup every time it runs out? At that rate I should just bring in a damn camelback and call it good.
audiob1ood2 points2y ago
Partners are approved to bring in reusable water bottles as well as personal cups.

> bring a damn camelback
Ngl I’m kind of upset I hadn’t thought of this before.
