I’ve messed up so many drinks at this point (I keep making them iced when they should be hot, oops!)
Just remember that it’s just coffee 💕 if someone’s day is ruined by a small fixable mistake, then their day was going to be ruined whether you made a mistake or not

Fuck em. At the end of the day it’s a job. A job that doesn’t pay well or care about your well-being. Try not to let it get you down too much

over 5 years in and I still make stupid mistakes on drinks, but I’m way better at catching them now before I hand them out. lol. Don’t be too hard on yourself. I thought I was going to be an idiot forever when I started, I even had starbucks nightmares. One day soon you’ll be at work at work and you’ll be like, “wait, damn, I was really good today and didn’t mess anything up!” and then it’s smooth sailing from there.

I'm so sorry!! I remember going in the back to have a good cry after being berated during my first week on bar. I hope you have supportive shifts and management. I have one shift who really excels in constructive support. I know I can ask her questions, and she will help me work through those trouble spots. More than anything, I hope you can learn to forgive yourself for simple mistakes. We make them all the time as baristas, and you just have to let that pressure off of yourself.
