Home Espresso Machines (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sillyrin
In your opinion as baristas, what are some good Espresso Machine options for the house. I am looking for something that would allow my S/O to do everything she would want (She's a barista, so she's really into this stuff). I was looking into BREVILLE or DE'LONGHI, but I have no idea what I'm looking at. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I got a pretty basic DE’LONGHI because my budget wasn’t super high. I love it. I really wanted a breville but they’re really pricey. I think both are really good brands. edit to say that I would definitely look up reviews and there is an espresso page on here that is really helpful! I don’t know how to link it though:(

I lucked out and got a Delonghi EC155 model machine on craigslist like 6 years ago from someone that barely used it. I think I paid 20 bucks for it. Once I worked at starbucks though, it didn’t compare to the power and speed of steaming milk on our mastreta, it seemed so puny and slow, and I would recommend getting a cheap thermometer to monitor the temp of your milk. But it works well, barely a learning curve. Just keep it clean because the steaming wand gets clogged easily, I’m sure the newer models run even better. It makes great creamy shots of espresso though.

I think mine is the same model as yours, I got it new at target for 111$ (you gotta price match it or it’ll be like 150$) and I agree with you about the milk steaming! It takes a lot longer and I hate that I have to stand there and hold it lol still would recommend the machine though!

Following this.
I wanted the Mastrena like we have at work but that machine is $17,500.00
