So, I'm a new partner. Only been at my store for 3 weeks. I went into work yesterday, and my SM just mentions casually that I'm being transferred to another store because they need help and could use my expertise, in his own words.
I just settled in to my store and I genuinely enjoyed my coworkers, so I have no idea why I'm being transferred. The only real expertise I have is my previous job experience, which is interesting. I just don't want to be transferred and pushed around. I had no idea I was being transferred or that it was on the table until it was done. I have coworkers I cannot say goodbye to and that's the worst part, since yesterday was my last day at my store.

I would try and contact the DM and let them know you're being transferred without having been asked. And maybe you can bring up that the new location might make it more difficult for you to get to.

Yeah, I've thought about it. I haven't even met the DM and I'm pretty sure she knows about all of it as well.

Uhhhh, SM here. you don’t have to transfer if you don’t want to. also, you’re technically jot allowed to transfer between stores until you’ve been at your current store for 6 months. if you need advice DM me.

I'll let you know. I don't think it's worth fighting it honestly. Everything is already done. They gave my hours for next week away already and I will be getting a schedule from my new store.

I'm sorry to hear that. I just wish I knew why. I don't even know what store I'm going to. I texted my SM yesterday and haven't gotten a response.

Another store might be desperate for more staff, ours is atm. I'm sorry your SM isn't communicating, i know that can be frustrating. Do you have someone else you can contact? An ASM or DM

Nope. I've never met the DM and I'm not sure if my store even had an ASM.

as a side note you aren’t hired by a store but by starbucks and can be moved around at will. Usually it’s with knowledge of the move tho.
