Hiiii guys so I am 16 and I’ve worked here for 2 months but I am nervous because I have only declared my tips on the computer like twice bc I always forget about my tips so I end up getting like 2 or 3 weeks worth at once am I going to go to jail for tax fraud yes or no :) I have no idea how this works I am #nervy LOL

I. Don’t declare my tips I’ve never done it I’ve never heard of anyone getting attacked for it so ur probably fine

No one declares them. You make like poverty wage, the IRS does not come after people making 30k or less let alone 100k or less usually. If you want to be safe tho just declare like 1000 bucks in tips if you average like 25 a week.

whaaat there are ppl making that much in tips weekly 🤯🤯 even full time patters at my store only get like 10 bucks
LatteMaster 2 points 2y ago
No 1000 would be like yearly

Yeah I mean weekly. In the long runs $10 a week comes down to a lot less than $25

1. You’re not going to jail. At your age, depending how much you make annually, you may not even have to file taxes.

2. If you get 3 weeks of tips at once you can declare it at once. The important part is the year end number being correct when you file your taxes.

I’ve worked at an LS for 4 years, we get our tips in cash weekly (I also forget to pick them up so I’ll collect like 3 weeks worth lmao) and I have never declared my tips.

Edit: I just looked at my paystub and it still shows my weekly tips, so they are automatically declared I guess :/
