I'm a green bean, been working for three months, and HOnestly half of the time im like WTF is anyone saying? Someone asked me for the "ariana grande drink" like PLS WTF IS THAT???? just describe it to me with minimal giggling. I asked her to describe it to me and not only did she get annoyed I don't follow this celebrity enough to know her drinks, but she DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE DRINK WAS?????

Talk to your manager! I’m finally setting myself up for SCAP (Starbucks college Achievement Program) where Starbucks will allow you to complete your bachelors degree online through ASU, anywhere in the country! Now they’ve recently changed it so tuition coverage is upfront instead of reimbursement. I know a few people in the program, and they love it. Especially if you plan on doing further schooling later like Med school so you save money for further education. A free bachelors, there’s no better way to describe it

Sounds like some secret menu nonsense from the internet. Get used to it! Love getting a phone with a TikTok drink video shoved in my face.
Here’s how I like to handle it:
Customer: I want a Strawberry Cheesecake Frappuccino
Me: So we don’t actually have a strawberry cheesecake frap on our menu that looks like a fan made drink. We’d be happy to make it for you if you have the recipe of what’s in it! But just so you know, we do have a strawberry frap and a strawberry funnel cake frap on our menu though!
A lot of the time they don’t know what the heck they’re ordering and will get what you recommend is similar to them. I’ll do this when kids ask for a strawberry açaí double blended and recommend the blended strawberry lemonade instead.

yeah, half of the time i try to do this when im on DTO, often i will just turn and look at a coworker or shift like "wtf...." and they give me recs like this to say, i love when ppl dont know what they are ordering

So the caramel cloud macchiato was a collab with Ariana and Bux IIRC. However we discontinued the cloud powder in December I think? That could be what they were talking about.

Nah it’s the the Carmel cloud macchiato. She advertised it. It was a big deal because I think she was vegan or something. So people didn’t realize it had egg in it so a lot of people got mad. A lot vegan ordered it. Then they realize the drink wasn’t vegan.

“If we have the ingredients we will make it for you” that’s all you need to say. I will look at a still screen shot but I will not watch a video. I tell them I’m going to have to glance at their phone 5 or 6 times. Then we have to talk about substitutes for the 2 or 3 ingredients we no longer carry or are just out of. Usually we get it done and never know if it was any good

"No" is a complete sentence. At my store we don't make those types of drinks unless the customer has the instructions and we have the ingredients. Next time, just say you're out of something and suggest a different drink instead.

to be totally honest... sometimes if they have no idea you could just pick something random lmfaoo. if someone asked me for this i would probably just make them a pink drink or something lol
