Is management allowed to just give employee numbers to other employees? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I know this sounds silly but every job I've had prior to starbucks, you'd have to personally ask a coworker for their number/insta/etc to communicate with them outside of work. Where our hours are posted in store though, our phone numbers are written for others to see. Im guessing this is for people who want to find someone to cover their shifts, but idk it feels kind of weird?

Yeah we have a list as well. It’s so other baristas can reach you if something happens, or your SSV can reach you if you’re late and haven’t called.

Your phone number is posted so others can find coverage and is not kept as confidential or hidden info. Of course it will be kept within company. We will not give out partner phone numbers to customers. Perhaps with the exception of a managers number. Many jobs provide or require a work phone but others just let you use your personal for business and non business calls. In this case your phone is used for both.

Ummm...yes and no? There's a book at my store but it's kept at the service counter so that if there is a need the management will call.

This is normal. We have a list with everyone’s numbers. It’s listed as their first name and last initial and cell number.
