so my store got a new manager maybe the end of March, she’s an outside hire and TERRIBLE! she has a lot of opinions and ideas on how our store should be run and doesn’t ask any of the shifts or baristas their opinions because she thinks she knows best when it’s apparent she doesn’t. My old manager was kinda awful but she was really nice and genuinely cared about us. She quit before our outside hire district manager could fire her, so we got stuck with the devil. From day one it’s been very obvious this manager does not like me. I am a very strong personality and I also stepped up a lot with the old manager because if I didn’t our store would’ve fallen apart and I really care about my partners so I chose to step up. I have a lot of proof of her singling me out and overall she is just creating a hostile work environment and has blamed me for bad metrics in our store and things going wrong and it just sucks. This past week she didn’t schedule shift coverage past 8 am and I needed to step of the floor to do the weekly RP order. At the same time there was a really annoying incident with a customer in our lobby who was clearly not okay, I had to ask him to wear his mask correctly more than 5 times and he was just constantly harassing the baristas asking them random questions and saying we were giving the worst customer service he had ever experienced. At one point he told me I was treating him like trash because he was wearing a tank top...I asked him to take a break from our store for the day because he was causing a lot of disruptions and a lot of customers were bothered. He didn’t want to leave for whatever reason so I called the non emergency line for a wellness check bc of his behavior. Honestly it wasn’t really serious just annoying but I was already stressed out, I also had a panic attack in the back bc I am constantly dealing with bs at this job and I’m just really over it. I chose not to call my manager bc she literally only cares about making customers happy, despite the fact that all of the baristas and myself were uncomfortable by the situation and also the last time I called my manager was when we had run out of warming and pastry bags (I hadn’t worked for a couple days didn’t know we were low, there was no note about it and I had been on bar all morning bc I didn’t have the strongest team) my warming partner informed me we only had about 20 pastry bags left so I called my manager to let her know and asked what she wanted us to do bc I didn’t have anyone to send to the store and she BLAMED ME!!!! she literally said “why didn’t you call me sooner?” Like she didn’t work the day before.....ANYWAYS with this information, why would I want to call her for any reason?? she doesn’t support me, it’s clear she doesn’t like me, and she constantly turns everything around on me and makes it seem like it’s my fault and that I’m terrible at my job. Because of her horrible schedule and the shitty day I had, I didn’t bother to file an incident report bc I literally did not have the time. The next day one of the baristas causally mentioned what happened bc the guy had come in again and she was worried and GET THIS! He was normal ALL DAY! So on Saturday when my manager came in she said she wanted to have a little chat with me. To make a long story a little bit shorter, she basically told me I failed to do my job by not filing an incident report and that it was a very serious matter and a critical mistake on my part, she also told me that she needed to talk to the dm about what the next steps for me are gonna be. I’ve seen 4 people get fired and I already know that her words are code for you’re gonna lose your job. So here’s my question, is it a requirement to file an incident report or contact your manager for everything that happens in your store? My next question is, what can I even do about this situation? I know that she is out to get me fired so realistically who can I talk to or am I done for? If you read this whole thing, thank you and hopefully my ass isn’t grass, but honestly it would probably be a blessing to be fired, I’m over this company.
tldr; my outside hire manager (who has made it apparent she does not like me) is out to get me fired bc I didn’t file an incident report, are incident reports mandatory? what can I do to not get fired?
