Take everything in this sub with a grain of salt! Not every day is going to be as horrible as this Reddit can make it seem, a lot of people come here to let off steam.
The job is going to seem very overwhelming at first, they cram all the information they can into you during your first week. But don’t worry! You’re not expected to be good at everything right away. Don’t be too hard on yourself, ask any questions you have (even if they seem stupid), better to ask too much then not understand! And the most important thing is at the end of the day, remember: it’s just coffee! Don’t let it stress you out too much.

Good luck!!!

I was in your shoes about 4 weeks ago! I have learned so much and it's been super fun. Take what people have said in here with a grain of salt (I've even complained in here).

There will be a learning curve, and it will be rough at times learning everything. Just remember that you're not expected to know everything right off the back. Most likely (this is how I started) you'll start out with online modules and then go into actual training with register & Customer Support (CS), and then move to cold bar for the next day or two. Then after that, you'll likely go to either drive thru or hot bar.

You will make mistakes (I definitely have) but it's important to remember that even the most experienced barista makes mistakes. I watched a shift/barista of 3+ years drop the full white mocha pump and container on the ground a few days ago and it just went everywhere. We're all human and at the end of the day, you're still learning and it's just coffee. Customers will occasionally be Karens (you'll find them) but the majority of customers will be 100% understanding when you tell them that you're new if you're having difficulty. In my time at Starbucks so far, I've only ran into one Karen (and I didn't even realize that she was mad at me cuz I've worked retail for years and I'm used to customers throwing an actual tantrum - so her acting huffy went right over my head).

You'll do great! And you'll likely get some sort of cheat sheet when you arrive for your first day - if you don't then let me know. I have a set and I can send you a link to them as pictures.

I start my first day after training tm and I was wondering what position(s) I should plan on doing?

I started on register and customer service (refilling cups, lids, ice bins, etc). I then went to cold bar the next shift, and then hot bar for an hour on my shift after that. And then I moved to drive thru. It'll depend on your store but that's what happened with my training. You'll probably either start on cold bar OR register though.
