If you have side effects, you can call out. There was a paper in the back of our store that I read that said SM's should presume the best of partners who call out for this kind of thing, and also I think you can get paid for up to 4 hours of time if you call out for vaccine side effects, but I'm not positive. Maybe someone else could clarify

I had to check this before I got my second dose, it was written in a US weekly update on April 26 or maybe April 19? One of those. You can find it on partner hub if you log in from a store computer. Plus you still get the 2 hours of pay for getting the vaccine!

According to the COVID coach, if you’re experiencing symptoms within 48 hours of a dose, you don’t have to isolate for the symptoms like you would if they appeared “randomly.” If you’re running a fever that would normally keep you from working, but you feel good enough to work, you can in this particular instance. If you do call out and you’re scheduled for a shift longer than the 4 hours of catastrophe pay, you’d have to supplement with sick time.
