Within less than a week timespan the masks came off and the cafe is open.
I’ve noticed less and less partners commenting (in our store chat) when my manager makes these announcements. She’s talking to herself at this point.
How is it okay for customers to come and sit and be massless but we were told if we come in as a customer we still have to mask up and can’t sit.
That’s it. That’s the post.

If you come into a store (off the clock as a customer) you don’t have to wear a mask and are allowed to sit. I just read this from upper management in a q&a, OSHA only requires us masked when working

Well that’s good then, because I know when we come in off clock as a customer we get looked at wonky because they want us with a mask off clock - I’m assuming it’s supposed to correlate with blocks? So if you come into another block to order without a mask? Idk. The whole thing is wonky to me

Your right, it is wonky, but not for no reason. Legal starbucks cannot dictate what you do off the clock, and if you are off the clock then you essentially become a costumer. So the reason you are allowed to be maskless off the clock or come in as a costumer outside your block is mostly because they don't even want to try to control that. The rules are alot like the masks themselves, they are not there to completely enure protection for partners or costumers, but to lower the probability of spreading it and having to shut down the store.
