There’s a barista training binder/ handbook that you should have. It has everything and even a progress chart for your new bean. You can use that as a guide to make sure you’re cover everything. When I train, honestly I don’t go by the book about useless stuff. I make sure to focus on stuff that actually matter so they don’t feel so lost when they start alone!

Perfect! If you need any more help, you can always ask. Good luck, it’s fun to train.

Honestly, get a small notebook and take notes. It’s a LOT to remember coming at you at once and that will help so much.

Welp. I make that awkward 😂
I honestly don’t have a clue. I’m not a trainer, but good luck!

As a green bean myself here’s some things i noticed that helped
• going over the amount of syrups need in drinks multiple times
• going over register multiples (i was overwhelmed with all the buttons)
• make sure to let them know everyone moves the urns in a different order so always double check
• please please please teach them how to get sandwiches out of the oven, the amount of times i dropped sandwiches my first day by myself from not grabbing them correctly with the tongs
• make sure they know that the chai tea lattes are under teas bc i freaked out not knowing • hobart hobart hobart!!
• dating things, i always forget when things are dated bc we didn’t go over that enough
• I know this already in the books but make sure you teach them to put the rings in the whip cans!
• if you know they are going to be an open or closer show them the task card and kinda show them examples bc my first day opening i was clueless!!
• The funnel cake traps, i know they are new to everyone but drill that into their head
• and one of my favorite things my trainer did for me was give me a “break” it wasn’t an actual break, it was to go over things, try to take everything in, and review what i just learned! -TEACH THEM SMALLWARES!! I just learned what is was today so dor the past few shifts it wasn’t done bc no one would teach me 😐
— this is just my personal notices when being trained a month ago, everyone learns at a different pace and what i was trained with made me feel comfortable but i would of liked to been more prepared! You don’t have to take any of these tips but coming from a green beans pov this is what i wish i was taught more or learned along the way!
