First off it is illegal for a minor to not have ANY break during a shift. Idk the minimum wage where you live but In Texas it is $7.25 and base pay for a barista here is $9.50. While Chipotle doesn’t have a drive through I would say it is a little more stressful. I would recommend Starbucks because they let you take breaks? Idk what your chipotle is on but it is very illegal. Anyway, there isn’t really a max number of hours you can work besides the max 40 hours. I would talk to the manager who is hiring you to see if you could get a higher wage but I’m not sure how that would work out. Also at Starbucks everyone gets a 10 minute break every shift and anyone who works 6+ hours gets a 30 minute break on top of the 10 minute break!

Thank you! I thought so too about the breaks but I couldn't find anything in my state about break requirements for minors, or even adults

Also just to add to the stress I wasn't allowed to start taking breaks until yesterday. And I work 7.5 hour shifts.

Unless you live somewhere with a higher cost of living, you will make a dollar or two less than what you make at Chipotle.

The environment of your store depends entirely on your team and your manager. Stores that are bad are typically *really* bad. If it's a drive-thru store, it will be chaotic at best. The stress even in cafe stores can be quite high unless your store is borderline military with their time management and organisation. You will work very hard since everyone is collectively responsible for store upkeep/cleanliness no matter how busy it is. You may rarely be thanked for it, and your coworkers may take advantage of that. You might miss breaks. It all depends on you and your store.

Child labour laws depend on your state; you will have to look that up. In Pennsylvania, If you're in high school, you're allowed to work no more than 8 hours a day during school term, and no more than 24 hours per school week (Mon-Fri).
