Nitro from the machine looks weird? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by awesomechief989
I don’t have a picture rn but my store’s has a pretty old nitro supposedly and idk when it’s poured it looks almost black with a yellowish tint (not to mention we have to restart it every time we pull a nitro). It looks nothing like the creamy smooth nitro I’ve seen and love to order from all the other stores I go to. Does anyone know how to fix it because apparently it’s to expensive to replace that they won’t do it.

Uh when was the last time it was cleaned?

🤷‍♂️ as far as I know night crew does it but idk. They’re getting better but they’re a lot of things at my current store that I’m sure don’t get cleaned as often as they should and of course it’s not all on them when it’s slow we try to get more done. And I don’t have time in the mornings nor do I know how to clean it

That very well might be your problem

Start by cleaning it for sure. And then call it in. I wouldn’t serve it to customers until it’s better

There is a filter that needs to be cleaned, I guarantee you the night crew is not cleaning it.

Uuh like I said it’s an older model as I know. Inside the fridge on the ceiling is a little white... thing that you can twist off. That’s the filter right, usually full of cold brew XD. We used to take it off and clean it to get the nitro to pull at all. That all I know other than the button

Not sure tbh about your model, should def bring up food safety concerns with your manager!
