So, I'm going to be straight up. I legit got fired (or seperated as starbucks likes to say) for saying fuck on the floor. They said there were customers in the store but no and is not liked I yelled it. Was just talking to a shift. (I was a shift too)
Let me hear your best story of someone swearing on the floor.

Partners in my store swear all the time, like some people do in casual conversation. Obviously they don’t swear when talking to customers and the manager, but otherwise it’s not an issue. None of the shifts have a problem with it because the shifts swear too.

I work with teenagers. One of my coworkers regularly curses at the window. That is some major bullshit

im in new york and literally everybodyyy curses here. the customers curse in coversation, we dont curse where they can hear but we curse talking to each other. my manager is not from ny and she commented one day “oh you guys swear a lot” and we were just like ya.. this is new york, you’re not gonna get us not to lmao. so nobody really cares when theres no customers. its such an arbitrary rule, im so sorry that happened to you. context obviously matters and its just a WORD... this company is type sensitive but its fine if customers curse us out. ok

Can confirm, also from NY and the cursing is all day long. Especially after close.

My foul language has gotten way worse since working at Sbux. It's literally fuck this, fuck that and fuck them. All damn day. My SM once called a customer a dumb bitch (under her breath, of course)
The massive amount of cursing and dark humor is the best way we cope on the floor.

I had a partner who was given a final written warning for cussing in front an ASM, in the back, from another store who helping us out. She wasn’t even cussing at her. We all thought it was bullshit, especially since the ASM was a fucking awful person. I had worked with her as a shift before and hated her because she was a boot licking cunt. Unfortunately Starbucks takes the cursing part seriously when it’s reported.

I've had a shift cuss at my boyfriend (who was a customer) before 🙃 now I get to decide if I should talk to my manager about it or not
canidieyet_3 points2y ago
I feel like there might’ve been some underlying issues and your SM just used a curse word as an excuse to fire you :/ that being said I (very loudly) yelled “what the FUCK” after spilling a cold brew and my shift nearly pissed herself from laughing

Told some one to shut the fuck up.

my manager invited all of us to eat his ass during peak LOL

Cursing on the floor is a pretty serious offense at most stores. I know a coworker who got fired for it as well. It’s a shame but they probably used you as an explain. :(
TherudestLiz2 points2y ago
I swear a lot on the floor. I routinely tell fraps that spill on the cold bar to f themselves lol. Or call lemon loafs where the frosting sticks to the wrapper and it breaks little b’s. I don’t do it loud enough for guests to hear me, but fellow partners sure do.
eckinz2 points2y ago
You were probably fired due to other reasons but this was the only actual “fire-able” offense is my guess.

One of my old partners got fired for the same thing. Starbucks has zero tolerance and it’s fucking ridiculous.
