SSVs: Since all of these outages started, all of my baristas blame me for our low supply. They know I’m the one doing the orders Monday - Friday, including the big once a week order. It’s so frustrating and it’s making me go a little insane. All of the passive aggressive comments and the look they give me when I tell them something didn’t come in the order. Has anyone else been experiencing this? I feel like I’m being gaslighted by our distribution centers lol

I'm so sorry you're being blamed! I'm not a shift but it's been happening at my store too, I know it's not their faults. One of my shifts told me they didn't get any of the dbl smoked sandwiches they ordered, and we keep getting other store's product. At least that's what they assume since it's x more than what we ordered or product we don't even sell at our store to begin with.

Dang that's low- I'm not a shift but I'm fully aware the order not coming in is not the shifts doing. It's straight up the supply chain struggling with the demand and the covid after math. Idk I hate the back talking and the small talk about other co workers- like we are all struggling-

We stay in constant communication with our baristas about our orders. They know when I place an order, what’s not coming, and what IMS says every day. They read all weekly updates and messages. They have to be able to communicate outages to customers too.

I really need to get everyone at my store better about reading weekly updates. I’ve posted the sheet for them to sign, I hang it up every Monday with the important stuff highlighted, I don’t know what else to do. I feel like there’s a culture problem at my store where everyone is looking for someone else in the store to blame. Most of the time that ends up being the SSVs or the manager, which sucks because we all spend so much time trying to make our store better and our baristas comfortable. I’m really good friends with a lot of the baristas I open with everyday and sometimes they will offhandedly say things that sounds like a dig at me without even noticing it and I don’t know how to bring it up. Especially since I’m younger than them. It’s tricky balancing a managerial position with all of those factors at play, if that makes sense

So my SM put me in charge of making sure everyone is reading the updates. There is a specific spot it's always located and by Wed each week I'll start asking baristas one question about the update to see of they've read it, especially if they haven't initialed the book. Since I have all the DCR's available, I can also see if someone hasn't worked yet that week or not but keeping informed of what's going on keeps me from wanting to rip my hair out when say a long time barista didn't know blonde beverages no longer get one pump less of syrup until last week when I told them...

I’d show them the order if you can to prove you ordered what was needed but it didn’t come because of distribution shortages.

Print out all the updates that are currently on the Hub about our distribution/inventory issues across the company and make sure everybody reads them! Hang them up for all to see this isn’t on you, it’s the warehouses with issues.

Your communicating to them that the distribution center has the right to zero out product when they can't send it right? Cause if so then you got a bunch of petty and dumb baristas.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I told them this

this used to be me too! but what I did was I explained my job as a ssv more in depth. I showed them what it looks like on IMS in the mornings by printing out the order (error messages and all) and basically showed them that I am trying the best I can too. I think maybe you just gotta put them in your shoes for a second so they can see your perspective.

What??? How do they not understand it’s a corporate issue ? Not sure why you would even have to communicate that more then once. We’ve just gotten over the worst of our shortages but everyone knew it was corporates fault. I’m sorry that’s ridiculous that they would act like that towards you as if we aren’t already getting shit from customers about shortages too.
