Hi, I just made a new account to post this because I want to remain anonymous. A white barista at a store near me said the n-word with a hard r twice while working on the floor the other week. They have been known to participate in microagressions, but this is on a whole other level. As far as I know, store management has been made aware of this situation, as it makes other coworkers uncomfortable to work with this barista. What will happen to this barista? Will they be fired for this behavior?

I will literally call the store and pretend to be a customer and say I heard her say it all I need is a name✋🏻y’all know management care more about how customers feel then employees do anyways.

We had a similar situation happen and I called my SM, DM, and ethics and compliance. There was a formal investigation where they took statements. Partner was termed about 2 weeks later.

This. If you call, try to be as specific as possible, especially if you pretend to be a customer. When they take statements they want dates, specific wording, and others present to try and confirm through separate statements from those present. Hate speech isn't tolerated... Another store in my district had someone who was transphobic, with trans partners working there no less.

My store had a SSV that was reported so many times for aggressive behavior and being verbally abusive to our youngest employees, who are still learning with workforce. This woman is 60 years old. She would gossip about baristas to other baristas and shifts. She didn't get fired until she said something transphobic about a trasgender partner. Starbucks cares about its image more than anything and doesn't want to be caught with employees that are bigots. Probably the only reason this person isn't already gone is because 2 SMs have to be present for a partner to be fired.

I had a similar situation. My manager knew the shift personally. Nothing happened (not even a write up) until I mentioned it to my DM offhandedly. I would go as far up as you can until it gets handled. He eventually got fired.
