Can I get an iced royal English latte with no water made with soy milk..(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by pettyanon12
someone tell me how to make this. last time I checked our teas were steeped in HOT water. she didn’t want it steeped in soy milk obviously? in order for it to be iced we needed to steep the tea. I suggested black tea with soy milk but she constantly said NO WATER. she has an attitude. She was rude af to my shift.

… tea is made with water tho???

that is exactly what I explained to her..... she was like “ NO “ I want it without water . so we ended up steeping the tea in hot water. She proceeded to change it to two tea bags with soy milk. She was so convinced you’re able to make it without water. She said on the app it shows you can do it without “water”. In the end she said “ it was a venti “ so we put it in a Venti cup and added more ice LOL

yeah the app also says you can put a venti drink in a tall cup, so 🥴

she’s probably thinking about how hot chais are made??? who fuckin knows

I mean technically you could it would just require even more steps to a complicated drink you would just have to steam the soy milk or any milk desired then steep the tea bags in the steamed milk instead of water

obviously you steam the soy milk to brew the tea and then add ice for a delicious cup of lukewarm leafy bean juice!!!

We suggested this but my SM said it wouldn’t steep and it would taste awful.

Was she thinking it was like a chai latte? I’m guessing she thought bc we could put no water in chais we could just do it for any tea latte? Idk either way shes dumb and i wish people would just use their brains for once in their lives

She specially asked for a royal English breakfast but I hope it was a chai tea latte she was looking for in the end

Use uncut black iced tea and soy. You cannot make it with zero water.

You can cold steep in milk but it takes forever. Not an egregious request but not a fast drink.
HappyMelonGirl1 points2y ago
You can definitely steep it in hot milk however it takes forever and would be legitimately impossible iced??? Does she want sun tea or some sh/t, wtf??
DizzyCroutons1 points2y ago
isn’t it a health hazard? you’re not supposed to add ice to steamed milk/drinks because of the possibility of bacteria growing i thought?

It'll take it out of food safe temps. We had a lot of customers wanting a few ice cubes in like because they wanted to chug it immediately. The brewed tea lattes, iced, supposedly cool down enough but tbh I've never had it better than a couple degrees below room temp after being shaken with the ice

As I said, it'd be impossible iced unfortunately :( I'm not sure if it's a health code thing, I'm just sure she probably didn't want to wait an hour for tea to steep in milk haha
