help me come up with an excuse to transfer to tarbucks🤠 (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by cactusjuic3
howdy y’all !

so i make the usual $10 an hour at the busiest location in the county and it honestly sucks. i’ve heard y’all make $15 an hour (bc you’re target employees) and uh, that’s insane. i keep trying to convince myself that if i transferred it wouldn’t be a cop out just bc the job is hard but it doesn’t matter anyway. it’s super rare to get a 50% wage increase for the same job.

i’m a bit nervous about how the other manager will be. mine right now and all the shift supervisors are hella nice and i love them and i’ve heard some manager horror stories on here lmao. my mom also drives me to work bc i don’t get my license until july AND i work the morning shifts so i feel awful about that.

i saw that other post about the benefits and all that so now i just need an excuse to transfer to tell my boss and everyone. at first i was thinking say it’s closer but like, they have my address and there are multiple locations much closer to my house. maybe talk about bus routes? ugh

please help me come up with an excuse !! love y’all :)

So you won’t be able to transfer from a corporate Starbucks to a target Starbucks. They’re completely separate companies, so you have to directly apply to the open position through target then put in your two weeks at starbucksn

I think them paying you 5$ more per hour is a pretty good excuse lol

Your also not required to give a reason. You can say you have personal reasons for wanting to transfer and leave it at that. You also just say its cause you really like target and want to work inside one

I have this idea in the back of my mind too to get that Target discount on diapers lol

Like someone else said, you can’t transfer to Target Starbucks, but can apply to Target to work as a Starbucks team member. You’ll get paid better as a Target employee, but there are far less benefits.(no tips, no free drinks/food). That pay increase is still probably more than you get with tips, but just consider all the pros and cons before changing employer.

Also- I started at Target, and I hated it, but that was 11 years ago now. Just expect to be alone regularly.

Maybe you're in a rut of some kind (financial, personal,, car troubles, whatever) and you need to stay/carpool with friends that work near there and it's "on the way" to that location. Mold this up however you like an I think it might just work! 😂

I've worked at a tarbucks for 2 years and I love it, by far the job that I've loved the most. And at the end of the day why work just as hard for less

Lol I have the opposite problem. I’m trying to make the jump from tarbucks to Starbucks corporate...at least at my store $15 an hour isn’t worth the mental trauma and mental/physical health issues it’s caused me
