hey this is random but I, of course like all of you, have other partners that come through my store’s drive thru and I have to put in their numbers for their discount/mark out, etc. Is it protocol to also ask for their last name to verify who they are? I’ve been to other stores and they ask me to tell them my last name and so I just want to make sure that if I should be doing that while I’m working, I am.

Technically you should be asking for ID, but I just ask for the name because window times

Ask for ID unless you know them personally and can quickly verify. Or, if they're paying with a Starbucks card on the app, a really quick way of checking is to check if has the "earn 3 stars per $1" label thingy if their partner card is connected.

I thought this was the policy too, but I have been forced to still show my ID even when paying with the app lately at some stores.

Oh oop. Well I stand corrected lol. Makes sense though since anybody could log into your account I guess.

It sounds like some people were using their significant other’s discount for stuff, and the store was cracking down. I don’t think it’s the policy, but it does make sense.
