Feeling tired after only 2 months in (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by liveingalpal
So my Starbucks employee experience from hiring to barista has been about 2 to 3 months. I’ve been working the past few weekends (because thats when I work) out of training and I really love the people I work with my coworkers are great and my managers are just the most amazing people in the world. But, as a green bean I’ve mostly been working on drive-through, front, or customer support, as I’m not really a good asset for bar yet. I noticed that I’m becoming so tired mentally because of this job and the customer service. I really love my job and I love working with my people and working AT Starbucks, but I just find myself being so tired. I didn’t expect myself to be this mentally drained only a couple of months in. Anybody have any tips for how to stay positive??

Thank you all

Ask to be put on bar when its slow. Have fun on your shifts and turn your fellow partners into friends even if its at the store level.

I agree with this. I sing when I do the dishes. Even hum and sip my drink when I can and dance when I have the mop in my hand. I have been on JUST customer support my entire shifts and I just do garbage and dishes it is super exhausting but when I think of my paycheck I just fake it til I make it

I worked at different fast food stores before but I think sbx is more stressful than other places. The expectation to be perfect at drink/register/dishes/prep and customer service, not to mention professionalism when it comes to communicating w/sm regarding call off, schedule, etc. Only reason. why I'm staying is bc they allow transfer to different state and free food/drink on off days.

in the exact same situation as you. started barely over two months ago and i’m already exhausted and sometimes wish I could quit. but then I have good days and super positive experiences with my coworkers and just feeling like a productive member of society and like i’m helping make customers’ days better (even if some can be jerks). I’m gonna stick it out through this summer hopefully and see what happens. good luck to you!

I am doing the exact same omg. I am so tried and honestly think I’m nor sure how much longer i will be able to work with this type of customer service. I really love all my people but I just feel tired
