Haha I'm a fairly green bean so maybe it's me desperately trying to make sense of things. It only crossed my mind when one of our regulars who likes his drink double cupped mobile ordered one day and it said "in a venti cup".

Start at the bottom and read up. It is (more or less) in calling order, so bottom up is the way to go. Not that I have to deal with mobile orders since I work in a kiosk. Yes, you are allowed to hate me now. :P

One of my baristas got an order like this, and he straight up just threw the cup away. Of course, i was the one who got stuck calming karen down when he "must have lost her order", but honestly i was just trying to keep a straight face the whole time. The unspoken "no." of that action was too much to bare.

(Edit to add: i informed karen that i would be happy to make her drink for her, just let me know what it was. Plot twist, she couldnt remember.)

Actually I was thinking about it, I'd throw the sticker away and then ask them what their mobile order was. If they can tell me that stupid ridiculously complicated drink then I'll make it.

The other day when I got an order like this I waited till they showed up till I made it "just to make sure" they wanted it a specific way. And then I called it out as was on the cup...all 13 modifications... The whole lobby is gonna know why drinks are backed up

Can we talk about how the sticker software doesn’t automatically sort the modifications by type? This is my biggest gripe, if you gonna let people write an essay with their custom order, at least make it easier for us by organizing the mods.

Edit: even better is the groups should be organized in descending order of when you apply the mod. (typically syrups first, coffee, milk, cold foam, toppings, powder)

I have tried over and over again to explain to customers that a venti cup is 26 oz, that that is a finite space and they can't just keep saying extra extra. Extra of one thing means light of something else. But they won't tell me what they want to take out

I seem to be confused about your comment, I was pointing out that I believe these drinks are put through as a prank, I've seen several posts about these and people never pick them up. In a separate instance, I was pointing out that I have seen posts on social media where people exclaim they are going to "ruin a baristas day" by ordering a frappucino, as if one frappucino is enough to put us over the edge. There's a large portion of customers who believe we are whiny, and those posts reflect that, as do the comment sections of many posts from baristas on platforms such as tiktok.
