does anyone else work in a store w one bar for drive thru and one bar for mobiles and cafe orders bc it's actually the worst thing in the world and everyone is so angry and stupid like ok i get u placed ur order 20 minutes ago so did 35 other people and i am one person not a coffee machine like 🙃🙃 one lady today was like hi i just got a hot coffee and its been like twenty minutes so i asked the name and said oh im sorry we were just brewing more pike bc we were and so i filled a venti w pike and walk back to give it to her and shes making comments w other people in the cafe like blah blah it shouldn't take that long making people laugh at me like im not a human being with ears that can hear making you something because you cant/dont want to make it yourself and i give it to her and say have a nice day then she comes back in 5 min later and says after all that you didnt even make it right it's supposed to have almond milk so i took the cup from her she goes careful its hot (like i dont fucking work here karen ik coffees hot i fucking told u we just brewed it) and dumped it (it was a splashy angry dump admittedly but after being rude for the third time was warranted) and threw it away and made it w her drop of almond milk and i said im sorry about that have a nice day and then she muttered blah blah something ridiculous and its just like ????? if u were waiting in the cafe for 20 minutes before saying anything to anyone ab ur coffee then idk what to tell u bitch next time ask earlier
but anywho i dont wanna be one of those useless partners that cant do mobile and cafe bar during peak (been working here ab 2 months) but also i really cant deal w people yelling at me especially with a cafe full of people watching it happen so like what do i do when people are like that because stopping and taking a minute and 45 seconds to explain that everyone mobile orders at once and the cafe orders are mixed in and im one human that can only work so fast and i dont control the times the app says it will take to people that are already pissed off and impatient and dont even really wanna hear my explanation just slows down the rest of the orders for what seems like no reason bc after u explain theyre still pissy and saying blah blah thats stupid you should change that like maam does it look like i have the authority to do that ?? not even my store manager can do it its a corporate thing and a space thing we dont have room for another bar or enough partners to even assign someone there if we did and this is a long long ramble and i dont even think it has a point if u read this far and ur store is like this too share ur stories/advice

I’m a former partner that quit about a month ago. Honestly, people don’t acknowledge wait times and they don’t care what excuse you have. If I was ever cafe/mobile bar I would simply get their name and let them know it’s in line. I would alternate every other for cafe and mobile bar drinks. They can huff and puff all they want but that doesn’t make their drink come out faster. Staying calm, breathing and communicating is all you can do. So I would say I’m working on that mobile order for James now and then I have that venti coffee for Mark after, or whatever. That way the customers know I am actively working on drinks in a certain order and doing what I can to get them out the door. The customers know it’s busy, they can see the line of people and the stacks of cups, if they are being rude it’s because of them as a person not anything you are doing. At the end of the day, it’s just coffee.

so dumb people expect their drinks to magically be done sooner because it’s a mobile like ok do you think you’re the only person placing a mobile order? guess what, other people order from here too and your stickers are all mixed in between the huge group that came up and the 5 deliveries and 3 mobile orders placed right around the same time you decided to place yours.. you’ve got eyes you can see me running back and forth pulling stickers left and right and the fact there’s *still* a line ordering more on top of that so just be patient bc trust me you wouldn’t be able to make it any faster if you were on the other side of this situation

Old lady drip coffee with almond milk thinks that the front partner who rang her up should get her coffee, like she should have an express lane because it's drip and maybe she's seen that in some cafe only stores back in the day but this is the trenches where we have drive through and mobiles and front partner has warming stickers jumping out while she takes Old Lady Drip's order. She should dust off her stained Mr. Coffee and try her hand at making her own drip

I wish I had advice but today marks one week that I have been free from the siren. I am interviewing with jobs that don’t deal face-to-face with people, because people right now are insane. I don’t know what is wrong, but something needs to change drastically in society, because the abuse we take as food/customer service workers is absolutely ridiculous.

no yeah sometimes it just sucks lmaoo im a cafe only store but we’ve been doing insane numbers and there’s always several points in the day where the lobby is completely full of angry customers staring at me in the bar. Like look at your phone idiot dont look at me 😩 I just try to keep the mood as light as possible behind the bar, and move as fast as I can within reason
