Grande Rant (maybe Venti) (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m so so so so tired. Physically and mentally tired at my store rn. I am usually the closing shift and the closing shifts have suppeeerrrr understaffed for basically no reason. My SM puts all of the people with open availability in the morning instead of the mid shifts or closing shifts. Except for Friday’s and Saturdays (those days are perfectly scheduled most of the time). For example: Saturday we had four closers and the pre-closers left at 9pm and 10pm (we close at 10:30pm) and the only reason we got out late was because it was super busy and we fell behind. Yesterday (Sunday) we only had three scheduled closers, one of the closers called out because they were sick and the pre-closer couldn’t stay till 11 so they left at 10:30. Plus that pre- closer has only worked with SBUX for five days..... and their trainer is another closing shift lead......... Today: it’s Memorial Day, our lobby just opened up, only 3 closers are scheduled, we just had a bulk order of 12 mobile orders plus all the other mobile orders we get... with three people on the floor..... oh yeah and I work at a DT store..... Im on my lunch rn but I really really don’t want to go back today. (Also yes me and the other shifts have complained about scheduling to our SM and DM and nothing has been done change it)

For staffing, I know for my district and neighboring ones, our Starbucks data only outputs and gives labor from peak hours (usually mornings). Im a closer ssv and also experience this but I understand after talking with my boss. He wishes it wasn’t like this too but it’s the way the data is pushed out I guess? And we have no control over it? They’re usually just trying to beat the system so they get higher numbers in the morning and can have more labor overall.
