Stores are required to keep tips. Shifts must inform the store manager if tips from a borrowed partner have not been collected, and it is the managers responsibility to contact the borrowed partners manager to inform them to come get their tips. Unless you forfeit your tips they are not allowed to keep your tips. If it were me I’d go in and demand my tips and not leave until I got them.

Oof. They should have paid you out for the missing tips.

As far as I know they have to keep them for at least a year.

I think it’s 3-6 months or something

Forever. Tips are wages and failure to keep them for the partner is an illegal form of wage theft. My store has tips from a partner who left the company 6 years ago, but we are required to hold them until the partner gets them.

I recently had a store tell me I took too long to pick them up, so they didn’t have them anymore. I was there 3 months after my shift. But my actually store has tips from early 2020 still. So I guess it depends on the store 🤷🏼♀️
