New hire question about tips (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I just started today and I know for the first week I won’t get tips but I was just wondering how they do them. I know they add up our hours and distribute like that but is it everyday or every week

They pool the tips from the week, divide by the number of hours everyone worked to get a $x.xx per hour and then distribute that based on how many hours everyone worked. If that made sense.
I’m not sure if that’s how all stores do it though
