Total BEN Hours For July 6th (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by 11Dori96
Okay, I've been a partner for over four years & am honestly terrified to lose my benefits.

I feel lost in trying to understand if corporate MAY decrease the total hours works to be eligible for health/dental insurance this time around.
At the moment, I MAY have worked over 200 BEN hours in which would count towards the current audit...

I can see the literal light at the end of the tunnel fade away if I lose my health insurance. (Though I've been looking at individual plans for dental & health which seem...eh...reasonable, but I can't beat our current benefit plan.

Covid really kicked everyone's butt this year, including my own family. I could write a long essay about not being able to work due to possible contamination, close proximity to those infected, fevers & harsh conditions caused by a suppressed immune system... Let alone the impacts of grief, illness, anxiety, and depression my partners and myself have experienced since last audit alone.

20 hours a week is nothing.....but having a pandemic in the midst.... is very difficult

Thank you for letting me vent, im just nervous and quite frankly scared of July 6th.

The weekly update last week (maybe the week before) stated the required hours had been lowered, but I can’t remember what it was lowered to.

Total benefit hours were reduced back down to 450. You can call PCC and ask for them to do an audit for you beforehand if you’re worried! That way you can pick up extra shifts or something if you may run short before then

It really makes it hard when your boss schedules you close to the minimum hours needed weekly. One thing going wrong, like coworkers testing positive and forcing you to isolate, can push you under the minimum hours. Hopefully the new temporary minimum let's you hang onto your insurance!

Remember used sick hours and vacation hours count towards total BEN hours. You could also take a LOA as a Hail Mary. Actually I don’t know what a Hail Mary is but you won’t lose your insurance if you’re on a LOA.
