So last night I was working by myself (I work at Target Starbucks) and got a deaf family that came up and ordered. So the wife showed me the order on her phone and they asked for a caramel Frappuccino with no ice. I know no sign language and wasn’t sure how to explain Frappuccino are basically mostly ice. So I just did it the way we normally would make a frap but filled to the top with milk. I saw the guy drink it just fine.
Honestly what would you do if someone ordered a frap with no ice?

I think the way you made it is the same way I would go about it. As long as they drank it with so issues, I’d say it was handled well!

For anyone def, I usually write it down on receipt paper. It does take a while to get things the way they want it or close to what they want. I’ll have cs take over 2nd reg to help out the other customers while I figure it out with the def customer. I pretty much communicate through writing it all down. I’m sure they would appreciate it, I even have a regular def customer that comes in and recognizes me now :)

I probably would have done that, basically making a latte with frap roast lol. another option was to possibly write on paper or on a note on your phone to try to explain

I though about writing something on my phone but I felt trying to type it out and explain it just take too long and I wasn’t sure how exactly to explain it while typing something out
