Question about the 5% wage increase in Canada. (self.starbucksbaristas)

We recently received the communication that all baristas will be getting paid 5% over minimum wage. I am in BC and understood this to mean that we will getting at least 5% above the new minimum wage. It went up June 1 to 15.20 and I am now making 15.55. 5% would be 15.96. Did I misunderstand the communication or am I being underpaid? I will ask my manager about this but just wondering. Thank you.

My friend who’s been there for 2 years (as a barista) is now at 15.90. Which is still below 5%.... so I’m lost.
