Food pull thaw time (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Few-Jicama-6174
My manager keeps telling us to pull sandwiches throughout the day if we get low and that they only take 3 hours to thaw..?? It clearly states on storelink 18 hours.

If in question, check the box label on the side, usually says how long it'll take to thaw or check on the computer on Partnerhub type in the search. In future note, pull more sandwich instead of what par says. If it takes 3 hours to thaw, imagine the risk of giving customers cold portion of the food. It should be If we are out, we are out, I would write in the book to notify next shift to pull more. I do know you can pull pastries and have it thaw in time. Just let the customer know that it may be cold, so they can tell you if it's okay to give [pastries only]. Not the sandwiches tho. [Former shift, I may be behind on updates, since I no longer works for the company. Apologies in advance if any errors on advice]. Don't fight with the SM tho, just show and give reason why it's not a smart idea to give to customers. You're allowed to say what you needed to say, to an extend lol. Some SM can be hardheaded. Just be careful and Goodluck.

Yes we’re a new store that just opened however I’m a former sbux worker as well, and it seems like this new store is more into the money instead of ppls safety. They claim paninis and all bfast sandwich only take 3 hours to thaw and pasty 30 mins. Like uhm no.

If we are talking about RTDE [Greencore], they come in the orders already thawed. Paninis, protein boxes and grilled cheese, they all come thawed. Definitely not breakfast sandwiches. This stuff needs to be situated with the DM.

If you don't mind serving a customer a sandwich that's still frozen in the center then I guess that's ok. . .

If you keep running out of sandwiches then the answer is to update your pars.
