I’m a new green bean and I was wondering if my store would let me take off July 4th weekend or is it prohibited to take off a holiday? Do you think I’ll get some backlash for even requesting?!

It's not necessarily against any rules, but some sms do say they'll block time off requests for certain days (though that's usually more around thanksgiving/red cup day). Your bigger issue is probably how close the 4th is- your sm may already be working on that schedule.
You certainly shouldn't get backlash for requesting though. Just try to do it asap and bring it up with your sm next time you see them.

Go to the “time off” tab on your app. It’s on the bottom of the screen with a little umbrella over it.

You shouldn’t face any consequences for just asking, just know that you may not be able to have it off. That said tho, when I was a green bean out SM didn’t want green beans working big busy holidays because they wanted the fastest people to be there, at least for peak.
