Fellow baristas what kind of clothes and shoes do y'all typically wear for your shifts?

I’m a brand new green bean, but I’ve just been wearing t-shirts (like the “nicer” ones from Walmart and Old Navy—not Gildan or actual t-shirts) in the dress code colors, and jeans. I got my shoes from Walmart, too—leather Dr. Scholl’s slip-ons. Make sure your shoes have leather tops so hot liquids won’t burn your feet if they were to spill.

I second all of this, including the Dr. Scholls! Those are my fave pair of summer shoes lol. But yes Walmart and Old Navy are also where I get all my clothes, they have super cheap stuff that fits the dress code and lasts quite a while. They also carry some nice shorts and I find good dresses at Old Navy for like $10. Theyre perfect for summer

If you buy your Starbucks work clothes anywhere other than goodwill or the salvation army, you're spending too much on them, imo. I've never gotten the same pair of shoes twice, but there are plenty of (ugly) economical choices from Walmart, Shoes for Crews, and such. Lots of people like wearing their Docs, but they're super not slip resistant, and I never understand why they're willing to put their good shoes through the Starbucks treatment.

Shoes for crews clogs for the win! I get a new pair once a year.

Jeans and t shirts mostly. I feel like myself when I get to wear a store color dress. Jersey is really good

I honestly wear, and a lot of my girl coworkers, American eagle pants and casual shirts that are neutral color. Also a lot of us have gotten the Starbucks shirts off of the coffee website

As for shoes, I wear the crocs with no holes!! For nonslip and comfort!!

I wear some skorts I got from Costco and basic tops from Target. Both are very comfy and just basic. I don’t feel like subjecting my good clothes to the coffee haze 😁

Try American eagle guy clothes. Super comfortable, cheap and have different colors as well.

Tshirts from coffee gear and cargo shorts . Most shirts on coffee gear are around $10 and on good fabric. The breathability is a big deal for me because I sweat a lot. Shoes wise I just get FILA nonslip shoes in all black, the nonslip is really good & tho they don’t advertise it as such they appear to be water resistant. I found this out when I accidentally spilled mop water on my shoes and my socks were still dry. Ive just been ordering a new pair in the same style every time the ones I’m wearing start to deteriorate to the point my feet hurt

Black jeans/jeggings, random plain black t shirts(and a couple Starbucks ones), and I always wear the same pair of black combat boots, actually from Walmart in the men's section, they come in a bright green box and I've had two pairs in life so far... The first one lasted me 3+ years. Steel toed, leather, water resistant, non slip, and great support.
