I walked out. 3 months of harassment(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Mmmhmmbread
I started at my Starbucks 3 months ago. Got very little training and I was the only autistic person. I was one of three men. And I was one of five people of color. I was relentlessly excluded and bullied. I reported it over 5 times and I asked for a transferred. I was denied the transfer. I got mistreated again today so I left. I just clocked out. Sent a text in our group chat asking for someone to come in for the last 4 hours. I just left. I couldn’t do it.

I’m so sorry for your horrible experience 😿😓 (unfortunately I don’t think you would’ve been able to transfer until being a partner for at least 6 months) sending cookies and virtual hugs 🌸 I hope your new job treats you well

As a POC on the spectrum, I can empathize and I’m sorry you had such an awful experience working at Starbucks. Props to you for leaving, no one deserves that!

I'm glad you're gone. I'm sorry that you had to experience that, it's not wholly uncommon. When I first started I had a super inappropriate shift supervisor. She asked all sorts of really shitty things. At one point she chased me around the bar area during a close trying to get me to look at porn.

Tf?!

That's not even as bad as it got with other management. One manager had a shift tell a barista going to their uncle's funeral wouldn't bring him back. He didn't want to give her the day off.
