Because the machine is broken and it’s leaking water into the grounds drawer. Both our machines have been doing it for years

Machines leaking water. Ours did it because a hose was cracked. Also check your shot times. Looks like the grind may be too coarse.

It's leaking... You might wanna call it in before it completely craps out on you (we had that once during peak and it was... Frustrating to say the least)
