Time. Management. Also, my first close as a SSV, I asked my SM to text me a to-do list for closing that I could check off as I went. It made the whole process a LOT less stressful.

Are you me?? Lol I just recently got promoted too and after a couple weeks I’m feeling slightly better but it was STRESSFUL. My first few closes I was a nervous wreck. Just know that even if you mess something up or forget to do something it will be okay. Your coworkers should understand and be patient as you grow into your new role. If they aren’t, just apologize and say you’ll get better. Definitely make a list of the most important things. Even if you think you won’t forget to do something, it’s nice to have that list to quickly look over before you head out the door. As for money stuff, just take your time. If something isn’t making sense call your manager or another shift that you feel comfortable asking help from. You’ll be great!! Try not to worry too much!

Also, as an after thought, it really helped me to be honest with my baristas/partners. Tell them you’re nervous and you need their help. You’d be surprised how effective confident vulnerability can be as a leadership tool.
