I think the craziest part is they even took one shot out of the drink when they rebranded the double shot as the shaken espresso

I realized the other day that I went from drinking almost no caffeine whatsoever to drinking 2-3 espresso shots A DAY. I've gone back to half-sweet steamers and iced Peach Tranquilities to get my body system back into equilibrium.

When I started at Starbucks in high school I never drank coffee, ever. I had zero caffeine addiction and after drinking multiple lattes per day, I was hooked and still to this day, 6 years later, get severe migraines if I don’t drink caffeine in the morning.
I’ve tried to cut it out cold turkey but it takes two weeks of being unable to get out of bed..only for me to eventually start drinking it again a few months later.
It doesn’t surprise me that a rise of these more caffeinated drinks is getting people hooked. I used to bring my mom drinks after work…she got to a point of drinking a venti americano with SEVEN shots of espresso, no water, filled to the top with blonde coffee!!!
She has since cut back and no longer frequents starbucks but it is absolutely ridiculous. I’m able to get away with just a cold brew now or one shot of espresso and I’m fine but I can’t go without.

I’ve been having headaches on the days I don’t work and I realized it’s because I drink a venti cold brew and a venti brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso with 5 shots on the days that I do just to keep me going. I usually only get a cold brew for my markout when I’m off. They’re literally caffeine withdrawal headaches.
