Why is it so hard to say your name when your ordering?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MemesandSpeech
Me: "OK, that will be $12.13. And may I have a name for this order? :3"
Customer: "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh \*Looks around for some reason and cautiously thinks of a name\* just put it under T / Josh / Val / Coco / etc."
I'm not asking for your social security just your NAME! (I understand you don't want me to misspell it badly but if we have the lobby crowded with 15+ cafe orders, wouldn't you want to get YOUR items and probably avoid angry customers / somehow getting the blame on me?) I''ll take nick names too but not something like "Daddy" / "Daddie"

This. Also, I don't want someone taking your food and drink. That you paid for.

People are weird about personal information for God knows what reason. When I worked at Disney World, we required biometric scans to protect against ticket fraud. People were so paranoid that we were “selling their information” to the government. No, Kevin. We just want to ensure that you are the only one able to use the ticket you paid for. I promise you, I couldn’t care less about your information, and neither does the government. Even had someone threaten to call the President on me because we kept telling her she either had to do the biometric scan, go to Guest Relations to get her picture taken and she would have to show ID when getting in the park. She didn’t like either of those options, so she said she was going to call the President. Not the President of Disney. No, no. The President of the United States (Trump at the time).

Honestly I’m like this sometimes because I have a weird name that people misspell and mispronounce all the time and sometimes I consider just using my middle name instead

This is why I always ask how to spell a name.

Honestly? My brain just blanks out when I go to give my name lmao.
I've started just defaulting to my future last name but still, there's a second or two where my brain is like "processing... processing... processing..."

It’s because they have to think up a fake name because they’re weirdly paranoid. I fucking hate stupid nicknames, like someone came in and asked me to put “big daddy” on his cup and I was just like… that’s not appropriate…
