Starbucks Baristas: The daily grind

The barista at Starbucks drew a heart next to my name, it wasn’t busy or anything so I know it was probably just an act of kindness but it still meant a lot to me and I wanted to know what you lot thought it meant (i.redd.it)

Might be that they wanted to spread positivity and kindness while they had the opportunity since it wasn't busy. Maybe they really liked your order, outfit, or something else. Maybe they noticed something about you that made them decide to do a small thing to make your day better - I have definitely noticed worrying signs (like cuts on the arm or a regular that's usually happy being sad) and taken the time to be extra kind to them because of it. Maybe you somehow remind them of someone they care about and that sparked the want to be nice

this is why i love writing on cups, knowing it’ll probably make someone’s day <3 hope yours was fantastic hardy and you enjoyed your drink!!!

thanks mate, it absolutely did make my day

I agree; when we used to write on cups, I'd try to put small things like a smiley face or a heart next to someone's name. Now that I'm mainly drive bar, I do it if I can recognize their voice or order (I'll write their name on the cup next to the sticker) but it still doesn't feel the same :)

I mean I always would write “have good day” “you’re beautiful” “happy Monday” on the cups when we were slow or like draw little snowmen when it was snowing

I write hearts often too!! Even on pastry bags, I’m typically on oven and it’s difficult for me to make connections when I i l’y ever work peak so drawing hearts and making notes is how I spread my gratitude ^~^!

It means they’re a nice person

Hard to say but when I do something like that it means I want you to have a good day kinda like good luck. Connecting with your barista and vise versa is where this comes in handy. We appreciate the nice customers and love making everyone's day better. On heart at a time.

it doesn't "mean" anything, it's a cute doodle. and yeah, this should have been in the other sub. this is supposed to be the sub where we don't talk to custys.
cabbagescraps 2 points 2y ago
you don’t know that, let them be. they wanted to show appreciation, chill out

Idk, one thing I did to ease my anxiety was do quick things on the cups. Stars were my go to.

If you were pleasant, you got stars or smiley faces. Simple way to show appreciation.

If you were rude, you got a blantant misspelling of your name (yes, even if you spell it out, if you roll your eyes at me asking you to repeating a minute long order for drink cause you didn't know what size you wanted, that Katie is becoming Catey).

If you were *extremely* rude, you got a horrible misspelling and an underline lmao
