When should I start thinking about applying for another Starbucks location? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by PureOakGaming
Hi all! I'm a barista coming up on 2 months now. I'm fully certified, fluent with register, but still a little lacking in cleaning/maintenance.

I love my current location, and I understand the less separate locations the better, but the pay is extremely low here.

I was wondering about applying to an additional, higher-paying store, and how much experience I should probably have before jumping in fresh again.

Do you guys have any advice or recommendations? Thanks!

To my knowledge you wouldn’t make more money just transferring to another store unless it’s in a higher paying district. If you’re store is slower I would get more experience on bar and cleaning standards then transfer. Ultimately it’s up to the store managers if they want you or are okay with you leaving.

starbucks pays based off of cost of living in whichever city you reside. so you may need to transfer a bit far before getting a pay raise.

unless something has changed, I believe you are not eligible to transfer for at least 3 months, maybe 6… and the transfer has to be approved and partly facilitated by your current store manager.
