So that one really used to trigger me, but another barista explained to me that some customers do it to limit their dairy intake and that has made it a little easier making those kinds of drinks for me.

They also might be doing it because non-dairy milks are generally better for the environment that dairy milk! I know that obviously it’s just one small thing, but every little bit counts.
I personally get all my drinks made with Oatmilk bc it’s the most environmentally friendly alternative milk (I also think it just tastes best) but I’ll still get VSC/VSCCF with my Nitros.

I’m not lactose intolerant but I hate dairy milk. I never liked it, even as a kid. Non dairy milk is SO good, I could probably drink soy and almond out of a glass 🤤 sometimes I’m craving something a little bit sweeter so I’ll get whip on top

Me too, if it’s a mobile order. If a customer orders blonde at the register when we’re done, I would tell them the blonde is finished for the day and offer a blonde Americano. Some say yes to the americano, others order something else

True, I’ve also been a partner for 5 years and worked at a high volume cafe store that was doing 75+transactions a half hour for peak with only 3-4 partners. So I had to learn how to thrive in bar for 9 hours a day. 😅😅

Nice. LoL I learned the good old stick a large dome lid on top of the pitcher when it's blending to prevent it from spilling everywhere. It works so well and I can walk away from the blender even though it sounds like a jet engine taking off.

We go through 6 chai cubes a day and that’s on a slow day. I swear all we sell are fucking chai lattes. I’m so sick of making them. I roll my eyes every time I pull a sticker for a chai and pikes are just inconvenient because they’re on the other side of the store

And when another store needed us to give them someone to promote... That's right, it wasn't any of the ones who were already being trained

There’s a shift at my store who has been strung along in the ASM talks for over a year and a half. It makes me so irrationally angry for them. I can’t be the only barista who would rather take the time to make a drink CORRECTLY (the first time) than worry about stupid window times.
Because as a customer myself I care more about getting what I actually ordered than the line moving through quickly. There’s no point to speed if you can’t also make the drink correctly and not miss a customization.
Customers are more pressed over incorrectly made drinks than wait times.
I go through DT frequently and half the time my drink is wrong. I never say anything. I joke to myself that the starbucks gods decided I need this drink today. But the reality is the constant need to improve window times are the reason. Granted, I don’t pay for my drinks so I say nothing. But I fully understand why customers get angry. Our drinks are not inexpensive. And they should be getting what they’ve paid for. Window times be damned.

EXACTLY. My store cares about window times wayyy too much. I would rather spend and extra 30 seconds perfecting a cappuccino than throwing a cappuccino (that may as well be a latte) out of the window because I made in 15 seconds
My drinks are pretty simple but still often get messed up too because everyone is in such a rush. I don’t mind because it’s usually not undrinkable, but it still sucks
