new barista here who begins training in a few days!! these might be dumb questions since i overthink a lot but i’d like some reassurance for a peace of mind LOL but do any of yall bring bags to work? tote bags, backpacks, etc? also do you wear the apron before entering work or do you put it on in the back room or something?

don’t wear your apron in!!!! you are also supposed to take it off when you’re changing/taking out trash and cleaning restrooms.
a lot of people bring bags, just look to see where people put them in your store.

Myself and multiple coworkers bring tote bags or backpacks. Don’t wear the apron into the store. It should be off when you’re outside, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, etc. I don’t put mine on till I’m clocked in tbh since I don’t want anyone to assume I’m working till I’m getting paid.

i start training soon and i’ve been thinking the same things lol !!! also, probably a dumb question haha but what do y’all do with ur phones when ur working?

i just keep mine in my pocket but don’t use it

I keep mine in my back pocket to check the time or any urgent messages from my other job. You should have it on you if you have the app downloaded- helpful if customers have a question about the app.

i put on my apron in the back and I literally bring a stuffed backpack with so much stuff it doesn’t even fit in my locker it just sits out lmao

I personally hate carrying bags. So i don’t, but a few coworkers do. Most stores have lockers…or a drawer to put it in. But i hold my apron and put it on as i make my way through the kitchen. Since you haven’t had a shift yet you’ll probably meet in the lobby though

Due to shortages at my store but there are several counties in my state that require them.
