Transfer advice (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by panda2467
When I moved for college, I transferred to a store where I would then be living. I absolutely loved my managers and everyone I worked with there, however now that it’s the summer I had to move back home. I put in my transfer request and my manager didn’t start putting it through until a week after she got back from her vacation (this was about two weeks after I put in my paper.) Despite my store at home having a hiring sign out front, they wouldn’t accept my transfer. Now my only option is to either transfer to a store that’s a little over an hour from my hometown or be separated from the company and reapply at my home store. I’m hurt that I’ve been with this company for almost two years ago now and have always been a hard worker. Much less, I’ve even come in the day after a close friend passed away unexpectedly just because I couldn’t find someone to cover my shift in time. I’m not sure what to do now as I feel like I’ve given more enough to this company and didn’t see this coming at all. I was originally going to file for a leave of absence, but now a lot of people are pushing me to go talk to the manager at my home store in order to see if there was some form of miscommunication for why my transfer wasn’t accepted. Any advice?

Talk to your dm. Tell them what's going on. My dm told me it's her job to look for a store you could possibly go to.
