I’m going to say something that’s not going to be popular, but you can’t use your kid as an excuse to take off every holiday. I’m a mom and the only time I’ve been able to have holidays off was while working in an office and even then I had to use PTO to leave early for Halloween.
It’s not fair to the other partners at your store for you to never work on holidays because you have a kid. There’s nothing special for a baby at the 4th of July and you can still work an 8 hour shift and not miss their first 4th- it’s a whole ass day. Christmas is understandable but if a holiday falls on your availability then you should consider creative ways like offering to work the morning of Halloween so you can still trick or treat that night.
I know it’s not going to be what you want to hear, but I’m just being completely honest with you as your fellow partners aren’t going to be amused with it and honestly it’s not fair to them as they may also want to see their families on those days, too. *coming from a mom who opened and worked 11 hours on Mother’s Day

I think it’s important to realize that you aren’t the only person who requests off for holidays. Requesting July 4th off 6 weeks in advance isn’t very much time considering half the staff may have done so as well.

No offense but get over yourself, having a baby doesn't excuse you from working everyy holiday.

One of my partners has been throwing this same fit for the last few weeks. First, no one in your store decided to have that baby. You did. Now everyone else needs to work every holiday so you can spend it with your baby? Why are those without kids holidays' considered less important? Seconds, when you take a job at starbucks it's with the understanding that weekends and holidays are a given. People always want coffee.
